A day out with the Berbers
Day excursion to Berber HomeStay & Tinmel Mosque
For those wishing to spend a day in the Atlas Mountains and experience the true spirit of the Berber way of life, Berber HomeStay is open to non-residents.
A full lunch is provided at the House. This day out also lets you visit Tinmal mosque (one of the tow mosques in Morocco open to non-Muslims), visit the village of potters, take a walk in the mountains or take a mule to a local village.

ITINERARY
Rendez-vous with our driver in Marrakesh at 09:00am.
On our way short visit of the weekly market of Asni (Saturday).
Continue toward the lake of Ouirgan and stop for pictures.
Arrive in Ijoukak Valley around 11:00am Traditional welcome with dates & milk at Berber HomeStay.
Watch Berber bread making in a wood fired clay oven and enjoy a generous breakfast.
Walk through our village, down to the river, an up to visit a neighboring village. Learn about local farming practices. Discover typical village life in a community of about 40 families.
Visit of Tinmel Mosque, one of the two mosques open to non-muslims. (entry fee are included).
Back for Lunch at Berber HomeStay and relax with tea.
Visit the village of potters. Watch an artisan at work. You may purchase a wonderfull clay tagine to bring home.
Depart Ijoukak around 16:30pm and back to Marrakesh an hour and a half later.

Pick-up/drop-off at your accommodation in Marrakech, travel in style in private vehicle with air-conditioning and professional driver; English-speaking Berber guide, three course Berber lunch at Berber HomeStay, Entrance fees to Tinlel Mosque, local cultural activities.

Price for children 05 to 13 years old is 300 dirhams per child (must be min. 2 adults accompanying). Children 14 and older pay adult price.
