My name is Said Id Ahmad, and together with my family, I welcome travelers from around the world to our home in the Ijoukak Valley.
Berber Homestay is not a hotel — it’s where we live. Our family occupies the first floor, while our guest rooms are on the second floor. When you stay with us, you become part of our daily life: sharing meals, learning our traditions, and experiencing the rhythm of mountain village living.
I started welcoming guests in 2015 with just one room. Over the years, as more travelers discovered our valley, I added more rooms — one by one. Today we have five rooms, each named after one of my five sisters. The oldest room carries the name of my eldest sister, and the newest room the youngest.
On September 8, 2023, a devastating earthquake struck the High Atlas Mountains. Our home was damaged, and our community was changed forever.
For more than two years, we worked to rebuild — not just our homestay, but our hope. In December 2025, we proudly opened our doors again.
When you stay with us, you’re not just a guest. You’re helping our family and our community rebuild through tourism. Every visit supports local guides, cooks, drivers, and artisans who depend on travelers like you.
Berber Homestay is located in the peaceful Ijoukak Valley, just 90 minutes from Marrakech along the historic Tizi n’Test pass. Our village sits at the foot of the High Atlas Mountains, surrounded by walnut groves, terraced fields, and ancient kasbahs.
All five guest rooms are on the second floor, each with ensuite bathroom. Guests have access to our large terrace with breathtaking views over the valley and mountains — the perfect place for morning coffee or watching the sunset. We also have a small plunge pool in the courtyard to cool off on hot days.
